Blog notes:
  • Students given the option to choose media ( movie, web quest, book, podcast, webpages, etc) what matches their strengths, but need to work with a new technology
  • Rubric established
  • Students submit a proposal of project for approval
  • Stop prescribing what the teacher wants, let them determine the project idea based on the rubric
  • Teacher not responsible to 'know' all the programs, let the students help each other (ask at least 2 students before you ask teacher)
  • Have a tech support person available occasionally to 'put out fires'
  • Let the students sign out the laptops overnight (CFF laptops are signed out by the classroom teacher overnight)
  • Halfway through project - storyboards required (examples for movies, podcasts, etc) - graded
  • Projects require a lot of time from start through presentation
  • Follow-up; students should reflect on the products
